Atlanta Executive Jet Center at McCollum Field |
|
McCollum Field has a significant impact on the local economy, contributing more than $112 million annually to the community. The airport leased its only undeveloped parcel to Atlanta Executive Jet Center in 2010. The private company constructed 100,000 square feet of corporate hangar space and 240,000 square feet of new ramp on the land. The $7 million project was paid by Atlanta Executive Jet Center, while the Cobb receives ground rent. Officials from Cobb County and Atlanta Executive Jet Center recently gathered to celebrate the opening of the Corporate Row Hangar Project. |

2012 Law Enforcement Exploring National Championship |
|
Cobb Police Explorers recently competed in the 2012 Law Enforcement Exploring National Championship in Fort Collins, Colorado. Cobb took two teams and competed in a total of six events, earning 2nd place in the nation in burglary in progress. Both teams finished in the top 10 percent in 4 out of the 6 events. This was the largest event ever held for Law Enforcement Explorers. Cobb Police Explorers were also honored for having more than 2,500 hours of community service and for winning the Presidential Community Service Award for the past 5 years. |
