William Greenlee's Dad, James Harvey Greenlee, worked in banking until the Great Depression really hit. Then, he got out of banking and moved his family to a farm he owned in McDowell County. There wasn't much money to pass around during those times, and people bardered for things they needed. Wiiliam Greenlee grew up and joined the Army and was involved in the Liberation of Europe in 1944 and went on to spend 31 years in the military.
