John Cook grew up in Brooklyn, New York, during the 1930's and 40's. John remembers a time when there were both cars and horse-drawn transportation. He remembers the milk man bringing the milk door-to-door by a horse drawn cart. He remembers having an ice man deliver ice, because there was not much refrigeration. He also remembers street sweepers that cleaned up after the horses, five cent subway rides, and Coney Island back in the day.
